Vagner Rocha, 2017 ADCC Bronze Medalist

For those unfamiliar with the ADCC tournament, the ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club) Submission Wrestling World Championship is a grappling competition involving professional athletes who have been successful at the highest levels of grappling, wrestling, judo, jiu-jitsu, sambo, shooto and mixed martial arts. The only way athletes can compete in this so called " Olympics of Grappling" is by winning the qualifying trials or by invitation. This prestigious event takes place every two years in different locations around the globe, where 16 experienced, highly skilled grapplers with their unique styles and backgrounds face each other on the mats to win a prize, and respect in the grappling world.

This year, on September 23rd and 24th, the ADCC took place in Espoo, Finland. A two-days competition where our head instructor and mentor, Vagner Rocha, took a Bronze medal home in the 77kgs Men division. He faced big names like Lucas Lepri, Garry Tonon, and DJ Jackson.

Congratulation to Vagner Rocha! VRMA is beyond proud of our head instructor for his discipline, determination and hard work!
