Coach Achilles, Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Assistant Instructor
Coach Achilles is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under his father and world-renowned grappler, and our head instructor Coach Vagner Rocha. A lifelong martial artist, Achilles began training at just 4 years old and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming one of the most accomplished American grapplers of his generation.
Achilles holds multiple major titles, including the IBJJF World No-Gi Champion and Pan No-Gi Champion at black belt, both earned in 2024. Before reaching black belt, he dominated the youth and juvenile divisions with multiple Pan Kids, World, and Pan No-Gi titles.
Known for his creative yet aggressive style and submission game, Achilles made headlines in 2023 when he secured the fastest submission in WNO history—a 16-second finish that showcased his explosiveness and precision. He has also competed on major platforms like UFC Fight Pass Invitational and ADCC Trials, earning a reputation as one of the most exciting athletes to watch.
In addition to his achievements in Jiu-Jitsu, Achilles has a strong wrestling background, including championship wins in FHSAA District 15 and the Somerset Scuffle.
Today, Achilles serves as a coach and competitor for VRMA and Fight Sports, where he helps train the next generation of grapplers while continuing to chase gold on the international stage.
